Sherman "The Tank" Pendergarst is a professional Mixed Martial Arts fighter, trainer & manager. Sherman started his MMA career fighting out of Baltimore Maryland in 2005. At that time MMA was not legal in Maryland, nor was the level of gyms/ instruction anywhere close to what a pro fighter needed. The lack of quality opportunites made Sherman's decision to travel an easy one.

The Tank holds several distinct honors for a Heavyweight MMA fighter from Maryland. Sherman was the 1st Maryland Heavyweight MMA fighter to win multiple mma Championships. He was also the 1st Maryland Heavyweight MMA fighter to fight in the UFC. During his career, Sherman has fought in 29 pro mma fights. He has fought in 12 championship bouts. Sherman has also faced opponents that have competed at the highest level in the sport. His opponents consist of former/current veterans of the UFC (10), Strikeforce (1), Bellator Fighting Championship (6) WEC (4) & Elite XC (3) fighters.

Currently Sherman is living & training in Iowa with Miletich Fighting Systems . The Tank is a UFC veteran, former XFO Heavyweight champion, former 2X defending World Fighting League's Super Heavyweight Champion, former The Rampage in the Cage Heavyweight Champion, former Xtreme Gladiators Heavyweight Champion and veteran of the first ever Yamma Pit Fighting Heavyweight Tournament.

Sherman has competed in professional MMA events all over the United States including California, North Dakota, Illionis, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Iowa, Ohio, Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts.
